First…
Here we are.
It's been a while since we wanted to share with you some of the highlights and experiences surrounding our adventure.
So here is a first attempt, first to thank you warmly for your loyal curiosity and your insight so engaging in my work dynamic. To tell you here that your observations and our sharing are always of infinite richness for me.
Art Vienna, I was there…
Since my graduation from the Boulle School, thirty years and a few seasons ago, I never imagined that one day my work would be visible internationally and what's more in my beloved city, Vienna.
Mixed with apprehension and, as always, a lack of confidence, when Erwann confided in me that the file he had patiently and long prepared had been selected for the next Art Vienna, I laughed and trembled at the same time. An extraordinary piece of news, like a grail, I can say it now, but at the same time, how in the land of the "Viennese Secession" and the "Wiener Werkstätte" that nourish my heart so much, would my pictorial research be welcomed?
I then enter a period of "intensive" painting. I wake up at 5 am to go to my easel in pajamas and blouse. So an immersion of several months takes place hidden in the studio then moved into the house to allow Erwann to receive visitors to the studio throughout the summer. 8 days before departure, I complete a line of 10 works that I am really satisfied with to present on our Viennese space.
And finally, what a wonderful adventure. What a beautiful breath of fresh air and what a fantastic experience to find ourselves completely out of our comfort zone, to leave without any assurance of success 2000 kilometers away, to the Orangery of Schönbrunn Palace among grand Galleries.
The most difficult thing was undoubtedly explaining the work and the course in English for us, French people conversing with German speakers.
The welcome was perfect in every sense of the word. We were lucky enough to sell and especially to validate new contacts. The team organizing the show gave us a warm and very reassuring welcome.
Truly a beautiful adventure.
